ARLINGTON, Va., May 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Engineering Services Network, Inc. (ESN), a leading provider of professional engineering and technology services for military and government customers, announced today that Douglas R. Lopez has been appointed its Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Lopez had overseen ESN's Fleet Support Services and will now take a central operating role as COO, effective immediately. He will be based in ESN's office in Chesapeake, VA.

"Doug has been working closely with me on the day-to-day operations and the goals and objectives we are pursuing as a company. His management experience and extensive technology background will help further propel ESN forward," said ESN CEO Raymond F. Lopez, Jr., a retired Navy Commander.

Founded by Ray Lopez in 1995, ESN has been successfully delivering engineering and IT services  to military and government customers.

Douglas Lopez' focus has been on the Military Sealift Command (MSC), U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and Naval Fleet and Type Commanders. His previous duties included overseeing business development for ESN within the Echelon II and III Fleet Commanders, and Engineering Systems Commands.

Mr. Lopez has a background in design, development and management of some of the most state-of-the-art information technology products. He began at ESN in 1998 as a senior systems analyst in IT, providing advanced engineering design for Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), Gigabit Ethernet Networks and Blown Optical Fiber Pant (BOFP) installations.



He is a subject-matter expert in aircraft carrier networks, with a background in LAN/WAN engineering, design, support and configuration management for the Navy.

Mr. Lopez served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1989 to 1994. After the Marines, he joined U.S. Robotics, Inc., where he was a quality engineer, quality inspector and production team leader. He later joined the product management team, as product manager, where he helped execute the 56K modem line.
