John Becker Appointed Chairman of RES SoftwareRES Software, the leading digital workspace technology company, today announced the appointment of John Becker as Chairman of its Board of Directors. Mr. Becker brings over 20 years of senior leadership experience in the software industry, including a track record of success as chief executive officer and board member of leading public and private companies, particularly in the security technology space. He joins Al Monserrat who was recently named Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of RES. Mr. Becker was most recently Chief Executive Officer of Sourcefire, a world leader in intelligent cybersecurity solutions purchased by Cisco for $2.7B in 2013. Previously, he was Chief Executive Officer of ScienceLogic (News - Alert), the leading provider of next generation IT monitoring software for data center and cloud infrastructures. Mr. Becker was also Chief Executive Officer of Approva (News - Alert) Corporation, a leading provider of continuous controls monitoring software acquired by Infor in 2011. He was Chief Executive Officer of Cybertrust, the leading global information security specialist acquired by Verizon (News - Alert) Business in 2007. He was previously Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AXENT Technologies, a publicly-traded, enterprise-focused, information security software and services company acquired by Symantec (News - Alert) Corporation for $1 Bilion in 2000. In addition to his role with RES, Mr. Becker currently serves as Chairman of the Board of KEMP Technologies, which provides Internet traffic management solutions, a board member of Cigital, the world's largest consulting company specializing in software security, and the Neat Company, a leading provider of Smart Organization Systems.
