FDA Regulations, Taxes and Public Advocacy for Vapor Industry Discussed at SFATA's Annual Conference May 4-5

WHAT:

The Smoke-Free Alternatives Trade Association (SFATA), the largest trade group dedicated to advocacy, awareness and education for the vapor products industry, is holding its annual conference, "Revolution to Evolution: Next Steps for the Vapor Industry." The two-day forum will address many of the trends and issues impacting the vapor industry, including the FDA's anticipated final rule on the manufacturing and marketing of e-cigs; the CDC's recent 2014 National Youth Tobacco Survey; e-cig harm reduction; as well as various federal and state legislative actions regarding product safety, underage usage and public vaping bans.

WHO:

Mitch Zeller, director of the FDA's Center for Tobacco Products (CTP), will deliver the keynote address, joined by a cadre of speakers, comprised of vapor industry experts and executives, academia and public policy officials. There will also be five panels and six breakout sessions throughout the conference. The vapor industry is facing its most critical year yet, from pending federal regulation, state taxation and legislation, increased negative perceptions, as well as prohibitions and bans. "Revolution to Evolution: Next Steps for the Vapor Industry" is an educational conference that will offer attendees a science-based, unbiased discussion platform about e-cigs and vapor products, as well as the opportunity to meet key industry, health and public policy leaders who will share their perspectives to help build institutional knowledge of the current political and regulatory climate.
