AOptix Named a 2015 Gartner Cool Vendor

AOptix, a pioneer in ultra-high capacity wireless communications, has been named by Gartner (News - Alert) as a Cool Vendor. In the April 16, 2015 report titled "Cool Vendors in Communications Service Provider Infrastructure, 2015," Gartner analysts Akshay K. Sharma, Sylvain Fabre and Deborah Kish identify disruptive vendors creating innovative technologies that are re-defining carrier infrastructure.

AOptix is best known as the inventor of Laser-Radio technology, a wireless fiber alternative that surpasses traditional microwave-radio and millimeterwave-radio in its combination of capacity, range, and reliability. This year, AOptix launched the Intellimax Evolve, the next generation of its Laser-Radio powered product, which gives service providers the flexibility to upgrade and instantly scale their bandwidth from 1 Gbps to 2 Gbps, to meet expanding capacity requirements.

"As mobile networks continue to struggle under ever-increasing data demands, service providers need new backhaul solutions with the capacity to handle 4G LTE (News - Alert) and LTE-Advanced deployments," said Christina Richards, VP of marketing at AOptix. "We are greatly honored by the Cool Vendor desgnation, and we believe Gartner's recognition re-affirms Laser-Radio as a critical part of the technology ecosystem that service providers count on to keep pace with the evolving mobile landscape."

Cool Vendors are companies that have caught Gartner's interest during the past year because they offer innovative or high-potential technologies and solutions. The communications service providers (CSPs) infrastructure report covers emerging mobile backhaul solutions, as well as other emerging CSP (News - Alert) markets such as cloud-based offerings (SDN/NFV).
