SecureKey Powers Connect.Gov to Simplify and Secure Access to Online Services

SecureKey Technologies today announced that it renewed its contract for 2015 with the U.S. Postal Service to enable its U.S. FedRAMP-certified briidge.net™ Exchange cloud platform to continue serving as the core infrastructure for Connect.Gov.

Connect.Gov is a government-wide, cloud-based service that enables agencies to provide consumers with convenient, secure, and private access to online services using government-approved, commercially issued digital credentials. Connect.Gov supports the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC), which seeks to help address the issues of enabling online accessibility of federal applications, while reducing the burden on an individual to manage multiple credentials. For more information on the program, please visit Connect.Gov.

In addition to the renewed contract with the U.S. Postal Service, leading identity and access management (IAM) providers, including ForgeRock and Ping Identity, have completed pre-integrations with the briidge.net Exchange platform, making it easier for federalagency online applications using these IAM platforms to integrate with the Connect.Gov service.

briidge.net Exchange Platform Pre-integrations with IAM Providers
In response to U.S. federal agency demand, SecureKey has created a partner program for IAM platform providers to pre-integrate with the briidge.net Exchange platform, which is intended to remove friction for integrating federal agency online applications with Connect.Gov. The pre-integration verifies that the IAM platform is able to accept credentials and attributes compliant with the U.S. Federal Identity, Credential and Access Management program (FICAM). SecureKey has confirmed pre-integrations with platforms from two leading IAM platform providers, ForgeRock and Ping Identity, and is openly working to support integrations with other relevant platform providers, based on customer demand.

The ForgeRock® FederalConnect™ solution offers government agencies an open, flexible, and standards-based option for managing user access to digital government services, anytime and anywhere. By integrating with SecureKey's briidge.net Exchange platform, the ForgeRock solution enables agencies to rapidly federate applications and services using Connect.Gov, helping them to avoid complex, and often costly, integration efforts.

"Connect.Gov can be readily integrated into an agency's existing IAM strategy, and it provides the security, privacy and convenience that end-users require," said Daniel Raskin, vice president of strategy and marketing for ForgeRock. "Now that the ForgeRock FederalConnect solution is fully integrated with SecureKey, we are excited to accelerate participation with Connect.Gov and help provide a flexible, open solution for managing digital identities."

Ping Identity's PingFederate™ is a federation server that provides identity management, web single sign-on and API security for customers, partners and employees. The solution is now integrated with SecureKey's briidge.net Exchange platform. It enables government agencies to quickly integrate their existing online applications and eliminate the need for end-users to create a new credential to connect with Connect.Gov.

"Connect.Gov is federation at its best. It's making possible a world where consumers authenticate to online services using the credential of their choice," said Patrick Harding, CTO for Ping Identity. "Pre-integrating with the briidge.net Exchange platform was a no brainer, and we're delighted to provide this level of convenience, security and accessibility to our public sector customers to deliver online services to consumers."

"We are excited by the promise of a U.S. consumer-facing federated identity service to make access to e-Gov services easier and more secure, which is made possible through the commitment of USPS (News - Alert) and GSA to this contract," said Stu Vaeth, SVP of business development, SecureKey. "We look forward to collaborating with more leading platform providers to make the government agency onboarding process as fast and easy as possible."
