NSF-GFTC and PAC Present Packaging Education at PACKEX Toronto


Canadian Organizations Offer Sessions at Toronto Event on the Latest Developments in Packaging

SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The NSF-GFTC and PAC, Canada's packaging consortium, and will be presenting educational sessions at the upcoming PACKEX Toronto event at the Toronto Congress Centre, June 16-18, 2015.

Center Stage

Experts from NSF-GFTC will make presentations at the free Center Stage, right on the expo hall floor, on Tuesday, June 16th. Carol Zweep, Manager, Packaging & Food Labeling Services, NSF-GFTC, will be speaking on Trends in Packaging, covering consumer demands, safety requirements, and the latest in intelligent packaging. Later that day, Robert Prevander, Global Managing Director, Supply Chain Food Safety, NSF International, and Karen Leacock-Bingham, Senior Project Manager, Consulting & Technical Services, NSF-GFTC, will discuss Packaging Essentials: Minimize Non-Compliance and Maximize Brand Protection.

On June 17th, PAC will present a day-long conference called, Winning by Design. Speakers include Sandra Farwell, Vice President of rand Management and Product Development for Walmart, Jason Wadsworth, Sustainability Manager for Wegmans, Mary Dalimonte, Senior Vice President of Merchandising and Commercial Programs, Sobeys, and Martin Gooch, CEO of VCM International. They will present sessions on branding, design innovation, and sustainability in packaging.



PACKEX Toronto, is Canada's longest-running national packaging exhibition now in its 37th year. Co-located with this event are  PLAST-EX, the Canadian event for the plastics industry, Design & Manufacturing Canada, ATX Canada (for automation technology), the new PBS Toronto (for powder and bulk solids), and the new Quality Expo.

Other educational opportunities are available for those attending, in addition to those packaging sessions. Conferences include Revolutionizing the Manufacturing Process Through 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing, Advancing the Smart Plant, including cyber security and the Internet of Things, Troubleshooting Dust, Flow Control, and Conveying for PBS, and a two-day training on Integrated Quality Management, in collaboration with the American Society for Quality (ASQ). Those who attend the full Quality training will receive CEU credits.
