Point of Care Decision Support to Showcase AC Software at the Anticoagulation Forum National Conference

ST. PAUL, Minn., April 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Point of Care Decision Support (PCDS) will be demonstrating their anticoagulation management and therapy software at the AC Forum National Conference, April 23-25 at the Wardman Park Marriott Hotel in Washington, DC.  Conference attendees include those in the healthcare industry that provide direct care to patients that are going through anticoagulant treatment, and industry experts and thought leaders that diagnose and treat thrombotic disorders.

Point of Care Anticoagulation (AC) software optimizes delivery of anticoagulation drugs and reduces adverse events associated with anticoagulation therapy.  The software was designed and developed in collaboration with leading clinical thrombosis experts, and is a decision support tool that takes the complexity out of AC management by providing a real-time AC dashboard.  With intuitive, predictive clinical decision support, Point of Care AC transforms evidence-based guidelines into intelligent tools that measure and improve AC therapy outcomes.

The strength of the AC software was recently recognized when it was determined that it meets all key recommendations of a consensus statement published by the New York State Anticoagulation Coalition Electronic Health Record Task Force.  The task force, a multidisciplinary panel of AC specialists that includes members from IPRO (a national, non-pofit organization fostering enhanced healthcare quality), developed a list of 78 recommended EHR features spanning 20 key discrete areas and 425 logical steps to help optimize delivery of anticoagulation drugs and reduce adverse drug events associated with anticoagulant therapy.

"We look forward to showcasing our AC software where we can demonstrate in real-time how to quickly access and know the entire AC history of a patient in under 60 seconds," said Tim Michalski, President of Point of Care Decision Support.  "This allows clinicians to spend more time with patients and see more patients."  In addition, the software allows clinicians to identify patients with emerging conditions that may necessitate AC therapy before they become critical.

Point of Care Decision Support will be running software and patient engagement mobile application demonstrations at booth #18 during the AC National Conference on Thursday, April 23 and Friday, April 24.  For more information on PCDS AC and their other chronic disease clinical decision support applications, please contact [email protected], visit www.ptofcare.com or call 800-249-7619.
