AHA Collaborates with Freescale to Deliver New Cryptographic Acceleration Hardware

Comtech EF Data's (News - Alert) AHA Products Group announced today a new collaboration with Freescale Semiconductor to add cryptographic acceleration to AHA's line of hardware acceleration products. The AHA601 and AHA602 PCI (News - Alert) Express^® boards leverage the Freescale C29x security coprocessor to deliver between 8K and 32K 2048-bit RSA transactions per second.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST) recommendation to move from RSA (News - Alert)-1048 bit to RSA-2048 bit encryption continues to stress CPU resources and the AHA solution works to offload this requirement for the end user. These new boards accelerate RSA (key lengths up to 4K), Diffie-Hellman, and Elliptical Curve Cryptography (ECC) public key algorithms, and integrate up to 12 Gbps of bulk encryption. This will allow AHA to expand its support of data center, financial, WAN Optimization, application acceleration, and other customers including government and defense. As with AHA's prior compression products, source code for the driver is provided under a dual GPL / BSD license.

AHA will display its solution in booth #2718 at the RSA Conference 2015 in the Moscone Center, San Francisco, April 21-23. New and existing customers are invited to visit the booth to discuss the products and arrange an evaluation.

Availability

The AHA601 and AHA602 are available to evaluate and will be in production Q2 2015. AHA is also offering free 30-day evaluations for qualified customers.
