Shareablee Social Scorecard Reveals Top 25 U.S. Social Brands Of Q1 2015


NEW YORK, April 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading social media benchmarking and predictive analytics firm, Shareablee Inc., released the Top 25 Social U.S. Brands in Q1 2015. The ranking reflects a growth of 52 percent in social engagement compared to Q1 2014, and a total of 12.8 billion social actions (6.6 billion on Facebook, 600 million on Twitter, 5.6 billion on Instagram).

National Geographic dominates the Top 25 ranking with 281 million total actions (likes, comments, shares, retweets, favorites) across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, also ranking #1 on Instagram. WWE ranked #1 on Facebook with 60.5 million total actions, and sports publisher Bleacher Report is the leading U.S. brand on Twitter with 6 million engaged actions. Hollywood Life saw the largest growth of any US brand compared to Q1 2014 (5,566 percent) largely driven by Facebook.

The top five performing categories ranked by social media actions across all platforms are:

  1. Publishing (2.1 billion)
  2. Sports (1.5 billion)
  3. Fashion (780 million)
  4. TV Networks (543 million)
  5. Consumer Packaged Goods (297 million)

Other notable findings include:

  • The fastest growing categories by volume of social media actions were Education, 172 percent, Consumer Electronics, 120 percent, TV Networks, 115 percent, and Beauty, 106 percent.
  • The Top 5 Brands on Facebook: WWE (60.6 million actions), NBA (54.4 million actions), Fox News (51.3 million actions), BuzzFeed (39 million actions), NFL (38.2 million actions)
  • The Top 5 Brands on Twitter: Bleacher Report (6 million actions), NFL (5 million actions), BuzzFeed (3.7 million actions), E! Online (3.2 million actions), NBA (2.9 million actions)
  • The Top 5 Brands on Instagram: National Geographic (257 million actions), NBA (144.5 million actions), NFL (89.2 million actions), Victoria's Secret (76.1 million actions), Brandy Melville (44.7 million actions)
  • Sports captured the largest share of voice at 23 percent, followed by Media Publishing at 18 percent, and TV at 15 percent
