The Spring 2015 report is based on more than 350 reviews written by HR and recruiting professionals.

The Grid?, which is created from G2 Crowd's software review platform, factors in customer satisfaction reported by users and vendor market presence determined from social and public data to rank products.

Recruiting software is designed to facilitate the sourcing, hiring, and onboarding of new employees. Software included in this category primarily focuses on one or more areas of the recruiting process. Some organizations choose to use multiple recruiting tools based on their needs.

To qualify as a Leader, a product must receive a high customer satisfaction score and have substantial market presence. LinkedIn Talent and UltiPro were named Leaders. High Performers have high customer satisfaction scores with a smaller market presence than Leaders. SilkRoad, iCIMS Recruit, Jobvite, Jobscience and CATS were named High Performers. iCIMS Recruit earned the highest overall customer satisfaction score.

Across all recruiting tools, reviewers reported the product they use meets their requirements at an average rate of 77%, and on average reviewers said they were 74% likely to recommend the product they use.

Some highlights from the recruiting softwae reviews on G2 Crowd:

"[LinkedIn] Talent is the most useful product that I use for recruitment. There are so many passive candidates that you can find so easily, that you'd never have been able to find even  [five] years ago. LinkedIn really is one of a kind in the number of members that it has."
- Allison Rudick, Recruiter at Isobar

"While experiencing significant growth, we managed our recruitment activities [with UltiPro] and easily hired and on-boarded 100 new employees in a [well-documented] and compliant manner, enrolling in benefits and then conducting performance reviews, all without having to print a single piece of paper, except to create an employee file. The reporting [functionality] helps ease problem solving and managing significant growth issues for our small company."
- Michael Kramer, Vice President of Human Resources at Innovim, LLC

"We are a mid-sized organization without a lot of controls and rules in place when it comes to the people side of things. We needed a product that matched our culture and SilkRoad has absolutely been a great partner for us. The implementation team has been fantastic…They made the process as painless as possible."
- Lindsay Evans, People & Organization Development at Chatham Financial

"Recruiter friendly! My team is much more efficient! [iCIMS Recruit] allows for us to manage a high number of applicants and a high number of vacancies seamlessly. The reporting feature is easy for anyone on the team to use and I enjoy having so many metrics right on my dashboard."
- Tina Schmitt, PHR, CHCR; HR Recruitment Manager at Kennedy Krieger Institute

"Jobvite clearly understands the [recruitment process,] from the branded career page to the ease of use for someone to apply within a click or two. The tool is a critical part of our recruitment strategy as it allows for transparency throughout the recruitment process."
- Michelle Rife, Senior Director of Global Talent Acquisition at BrightEdge

"Jobscience has propelled the team [into] working with cutting edge technology in a landscape where you need every advantage."
- Harry Lee, Director at CD Recruitment

"CATS has far more robust features than the other recruitment systems I've explored and/or used. It can be used to manage candidate flow for existing requisitions or to build strategic candidate pipelines for the needs of the future. CATS is easy to customize the system internally to work within your existing recruitment processes."
- LeQuay Marsh, MHCS, TAS, ECRE; Talent Sourcing Consultant at International Paper

Of the more than 75 software vendors listed in G2 Crowd's Recruiting Software category, the 12 ranked products each received 10 or more reviews to qualify for inclusion on the Grid?.

Satisfaction rankings are generated from the user reviews, and market presence is calculated from vendor size, market share, and social impact. Based on a combination of these scores, each software solution is categorized as a Leader, High Performer, Contender, or Niche.

Premium research access can be purchased on the site for $599.
