Newgate Instruments Announces Release of Natural Gas Industry's First Ultra-Low Power Wireless Multivariable Transmitter with Integrated Chart Replacement Data Logging

Newgate Instruments today announced the official release of the JT400, the natural gas industry's first ultra-low power wireless multivariable transmitter with integrated chart replacement data logging. For measurement of differential pressure (DP), static pressure, and process temperature, the JT400 provides best-in-class accuracy and, in a single explosion-proof package, offers such unique functionality as historical data logging, wireless communication, analog/digital I/O, USB port, and a selection of integral power sources. A beta release of the JT400 was demonstrated at ENTELEC 2014.

"The JT400 represents a technological breakthrough that finally does away with the old manual gas well chart recorders and replaces them with a smart, new, hands-off transmitter capable of operating autonomously and reliably in the most forbidding environments on Earth," said David Hudson, CEO of Newgate Instruments. "Remoteinstallations have always been difficult because the necessary equipment has been cumbersome, costly to install and maintain, and difficult to secure. The JT400 eliminates these challenges while providing highly accurate readings and industry-compliant data logging."

The JT400's key features include extremely high efficiency and autonomy. The unit uses a fraction of the power of traditional multivariable transmitters and significantly increased battery life. A unique solar-powered option can operate up to six months without sunlight.

For custody-transfer measurement applications, the JT400 provides industry-leading measurement accuracy and an API 21.1-compliant historical data log that maintains 15-minute averages for over 35 days.

The JT400 is also the industry'sĀ first MVT to offer a local USB interface for convenient configuration and data downloading.

For new applications as well as replacement of existing transmitters, the JT400 is compatible with practically all upstream, midstream and pipeline installations.
