Atheer Unveils Communications Console and Unity Integration in AiR OS

Atheer, the company pioneering Augmented Interactive Reality (AiR), combining the power of 3D augmented reality with gesture-based computing interaction, today announced a new software update for the Atheer AiR™ OS. Following the recent launch of Atheer's second generation award-winning Smart Glasses, the Atheer AiR Developer Kit 2 (AiR DK2), the company is now introducing the cloud-based AiR Operations and Communications Console, as well as a plug-in for the Unity 3D Engine. With the addition of these new features, Atheer continues to drive forward its mission to enable rich productive mobile workflows across the enterprise landscape.

"Throughout the field services, oil & gas, warehousing, and healthcare sectors, our customers are demanding an enterprise-grade smart glasses platform, and we are rapidly advancing our capabilities and ecosystem integrations to meet those needs," said Alberto Torres, CEO of Atheer. "These two new features leverage the fundamental benefits of the Atheer AiR platform, rich real-time communication and interactive immersive 3D experiences."

Released today, Atheer's new Operations and Communications Console brings a sophisticated new level of communications to AiR Smart Glasses, enabling enterprises to manage and oversee communications with their deskless workforce from anywhere. The new Operations and Communications Console allows for rich collaboration between the central office and mobile workers, icluding two-way text and video conferencing. These new features are also available as APIs through the AiR SDK for easy integration into existing applications, and device and operations management consoles.

Also announced today is the Atheer plug-in for the Unity 3D Engine, the leading development platform for creating 2D and 3D games as well as key enterprise applications such as simulation and training. While Atheer has always enabled Unity Android (News - Alert) applications on the AiR Smart Glasses through its legacy application support, the new Unity plug-in gives developers deeper access to Atheer's precise, mobile 3D hand and finger detection as a standard input mechanism within the Unity 3D environment.

Developers building productivity tools on Atheer AiR platform can now use the same Unity 3D design engine that they are familiar with to create high-fidelity applications for AiR Smart Glasses. Furthermore, this plug-in paves the way for other mobile devices to leverage Atheer's first-in-class mobile gesture-detection platform to drive rich and interactive mobile 3D experiences.
