App Annie Appoints Danielle Levitas as Senior Vice President of Research & Analysis

SAN FRANCISCO, April 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today App Annie, the largest mobile app intelligence platform, announced the addition of Danielle Levitas to its executive team as its senior vice president of research & analysis. Levitas joins App Annie with nearly 20 years of experience leading analyst teams at market research firm IDC, where she led the firm's mobility, digital media, consumer and broadband research teams.

Levitas will oversee the new Research & Analysis team at App Annie whose scope will be focused on better serving both the wider app community and the firm's enterprise clients in four main areas:

  • Expanding our free insights for the community by building on the company's existing offerings of company research, indices and white papers and offering more educational content in gaming, entertainment, technology, retail, travel, finance and more.
  • Creating a new customized research and advisory offering for App Annie Intelligence customers who wish to gain deeper insight into the data they subscribe to.

  • Managing App Annie's new and existing partnerships with the world's leading research firms such as IDC, IHS and Kantar Retail.

"Providing insightful analytics and market data is essential to making smarter business decisions, but some of our customers need to supplement that data with more actionable insights," said App Annie CEO and co-founder Bertrand Schmitt. "Customers already see us as a trusted advisor and expertin the space, so it's a logical next step to deliver tailored research and analysis via a service they can rely on. Danielle is one of the most trusted thought leaders and analyst team builders in this space, and the benefit to our clients will be tremendous."

At IDC, Levitas served as group vice president and general manager for its digital media, mobility and consumer practice. Levitas grew her team from three analysts covering consumer devices to nearly two dozen analysts spanning an expanded range of technology practices, including consumer, mobile and digital media.

"I'm particularly excited about two things--the data and the team. App Annie is amassing the largest treasure trove of app market data in the industry, and the opportunity to couple that data with market and business context to help the world's most influential companies develop and refine their mobile strategy is absolutely unmissable," said Levitas. "The team here is incredible and I look forward to working alongside some of the best and brightest in the industry - they are true innovators in research, data science, mobile technology, gaming and digital media. The company is a melting pot of everything exciting that's going on in mobile apps, and I'm thrilled to join such a dynamic team."
