Signiant to Share Insights into Media and Entertainment Industry Trends at 2015 NAB Show

Signiant, the market leader in intelligent file movement software, today announced that executives will be participating in prestigious panel sessions at the 2015 NAB Show, the world's largest electronic media show covering the creation, management and delivery of content across all platforms. Signiant CEO Margaret Craig and CTO Ian Hamilton will join industry visionaries to discuss the business and technology trends that will shape the industry in the coming year.

Craig will kick off NAB as a panelist at the "NAB Annual State of the Industry Breakfast," an event focused on market intelligence, the current business climate and technical developments in media and entertainment. Craig will join other technology company CEOs in providing insights into the issues facing the industry as it deals with increasing IT commoditization, higher resolutions and growing adoption of cloud applications. The session is organized by the IABM, the trade organization that represents media technology suppliers worldwide.

Hamilton will join experts from other innovative technology companies such as Box (News - Alert), Google and Adobe on a panel titled, "Cloud security, Today, Tomorrow and beyond." In spite of rapidly growing cloud adoption in the media industry, concerns remain about the safety of content that is stored in public cloud infrastructure. Hamilton, an expert on file movement and security with more than 20 years of experience, will join hs fellow panelists in discussing how technical solutions and industry practices are evolving to ensure robust content security.

Hamilton also participated in a recently recorded NAB Virtual Session titled, "This is Not Your Parents Storage: Transitioning to Cloud Object Storage." While the benefits of cloud technology are undeniable-from improved business agility to economies of scale-media organizations need reassurance about security and performance in multi-tenant environments. During this presentation, Ian discussed why the cloud transition is inevitable and how state-of-the-art technical solutions can overcome obstacles related to security and performance. The session will be available April 2nd for viewing on the Entertainment Technology Center (ETC) YouTube channel.

"The NAB Show gathers the leading voices in the media business to share their insights. As the pace of technological change continues to accelerate, this knowledge-sharing becomes even more important," said Margaret Craig, CEO, Signiant. "Signiant has a lengthy history in helping media and entertainment organizations move their high-value assets, quickly and securely. We are looking forward to the opportunity to share our expertise in file delivery in the cloud era with NAB attendees."
