TheArtBoard.EXCHANGE Resonates in the SMART AGE

The emerging Social Mobile ART movement might be characterized as convergence of art, technology and social media, where the whole world is the canvas and all the people are the artist.

TheArtBoard.EXCHANGE embeds Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) microchips into art for the wireless use of electromagnetic fields to transfer data. The microchips identify and authenticate Social Mobile ART Boards. The microchips are powered by electromagnetic induction from magnetic fields produced near the reader.

RFID microchips are used in many different applications: government identification, public transportation, payment systemsand POS cards and a variety of industrial uses and environments. RFID microchips are also injected into living creatures (cattle, pets, wildlife and insects).

RFID chips can be attached or added to anything ... even implanted within people. The possibility of low cost, ubiquitous and mandatory RFID implanting into humans raises many questions that should be considered thoughtfully. It is entirely possible that someday, humans could be continuously connected to the Internet via implanted microchips and tracked 24 hours per day, 365 days per year from satellites or cell towers the way phones are today. Maybe it will someday be possible for implanted microchips to read our minds and tell our thoughts to Google (News - Alert) or Facebook or ... "the thought police."

Livestock and pets have tags injected using a syringe. These tags allow positive identification using an RFID reader and many pets today are RFID tagged and nationally registered.

Social Mobile ART Boards are designed for public exhibition and feature digitally rendered classic and contemporary art with social and informational links to TheArtBoard.EXCHANGE. The art boards have a "Da Vinci" code for scanning by smart phones and RFID tags inserted into the core.

The use of RFID tags in the Social Mobile ART Board is both functional and Orwellian. It is making a public statement that is invisible to the naked eye, but can be sensed by everyone.

TheArtBoard.EXCHANGE is the global exchange of art and culture. Utilizing art, social media, mobile and Internet technology and global corporate, political and economic exchange to engage, enlighten and enhance the world.
