eClinicalWorks Announces Integration between Wearable Devices and healow PlatformeClinicalWorks®, a leader in ambulatory healthcare IT solutions, today announced integration between its wholly-owned subsidiary healow® (Health & Online Wellness) and industry-leading wearable devices and fitness trackers. Data from these devices will seamlessly integrate into a consumer's personal health record (PHR) via healow.com and healow mobile application as well as be available to that person's medical provider, advancing care delivery. According to a recent PricewaterhouseCoopers survey, adoption of wearable technology is around 20% and rising. By integrating these devices with the healow platform, consumers will have usage information seamlessly updated on healow.com and the healow app, which will be included with their PHR. This information may also be shared with the users' physician, with patient permission, and automatically enters the electronic health records (EHR) system. Monitoring daily habits leads to healthier choices, specifically for patients living with chronic diseases, such as diabetes or asthma. Linking a medical provider to these results improves outcomes by keeping the provider informed as well as enabling them to flag specific changes. Several of the industry's leading wearable device and fitness tracker companies have integrated data with healow, including Fitbit, iHealth, Jawbone and Withings. "iHealth is dedicated to helping people lead healthier lives," said Joseph Catalano, head of enterprise solutions for iHealth Lab, Inc. "We aim to help make it as easy as possible for individuals of all ages to take a more active role in managing their health with the influence of their medical prvider. Our partnership with healow will allow us to extend the value of our devices and help patients take involvement in their health." "Withings broadens the capabilities of objects, turning them into smart connected devices," said Cédric Hutchings, CEO for Withings. "By using mobile phones and computers as bridges and opening up its platform to a wide ecosystem, Withings provides users with a 360° health and wellness experience. We are excited to partner with healow and believe this is a great platform for consumers to access a consolidated view of their health information to ultimately improve their health." "A more informed patient is generally a healthier one," said Girish Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. "By giving consumers a single place to view their health records along with device and tracker data, it simplifies managing this information while keeping the quarterback of care, their physician, in the loop. Giving physicians a better informed idea of patient activities throughout the year can dramatically improve recommendations and outcomes. We are looking forward to teaming up with leading device companies in order to help healow evolve and make tracking healthcare easier for both patients and providers."
