Clinton Becomes Fourth Mississippi City to Qualify Multiple Areas for C Spire's Historic 1 Gbps Fiber to the Home Internet Technology InitiativeHomeowner pre-registration exceeded the required threshold in a fourth area of Clinton this week - helping the city expand eligibility for C Spire's ultra-fast 1 Gbps (Gigabit per second) Fiber to the Home Internet and related SuperTM HD TV and home phone services. Municipal leaders and C Spire officials announced today that Clinton's Cascades fiber hood reached its pre-registration target Tuesday and now joins the Southern Oaks, Hunter's Ridge-Indian Trails and Bruenburg North fiber hoods, which qualified for the 100 times faster Internet service in late January. The Ridgeland-based telecommunications and technology services company expects to finish engineering and begin construction in the latest Clinton fiber hood in June. Commercial service is expected to be available by mid-October in all four areas of the city.
