3Delta Systems Pairs with DockHop to Offer Boat Captains and Marinas a Safer, Easier Way to Berth Boats

Under a new agreement with credit card security and processing experts 3Delta Systems Inc.®, an innovative new boat slip reservation service is setting sail to make life easier for captains and marinas.

With DockHop, boat captains looking for the most convenient way to book a slip - online, even when at sea - can check availability and book space around the clock. And with 3DSI's CardVault tokenization, they'll know that their personal data and credit card information is in safe harbor.

DockHop removes the headache of searching for a space at a marina, or trying to book by phone or radio while at sea. Once they pilot their crafts in, they'll literally only need the harbormaster to point them to their slip.

Likewise, marinas who sign up for the DockHop service enjoy the convenience of keeping customers on file for repeat business, and the ability to assure them that their information is stored safely with a PCI (News - Alert)-certified protection system.

"Our mission at DockHop is to make the process of finding and securing space at marinas more efficient for both captains and marinas. A crucial component of amending this process is facilitating payments in the most convenient and secure manner possible," said Tyler Kneisel, founder and CEO of DockHop. "CardVault has provided us a solution that does not drastically alter the way marinas receive payments, but which provides our customers the security and peace of mind they need to book with confidence online and on their mobile device."

CardVault was a natural partner for the security of customer card data.

"As innovators ourselves in the card-security space, 3Delta Systems loves teaming with other pioneers," said Allen Cage, CEO of 3DSI.

3DSI first began protecting credit cards with tokenization - a process that allows the merchant to store token key references instead of sensitive credit card data in its systems - in 2003. In the event of a data breach, the tokens are useless to thieves.

"Tokenization is now considered the most important way that businesses can protect customers' cards and other sensitive information," Cage said. 3DSI has employed rigorous payment card industry (PCI) requirements for safeguarding cardholder data against fraud and data security breaches since 2004. 3DSI is also a participating organization in the PCI Security Standards Council and identified on the Visa and MasterCard (News - Alert) lists of compliant service providers.
