Associates in Oncology/Hematology Joins Maryland Oncology Hematology


Maryland Oncology Hematology (MOH), a premier provider of advanced cancer care services throughout the Maryland/Washington D.C. region and an affiliate of The US Oncology Network, announced today that Associates in Oncology/Hematology (AOH) has joined its practice. The union enhances patient care services and research opportunities for both practices while expanding MOH's reach throughout the area by adding treatment locations in Bethesda and Rockville. The seven medical oncologists and hematologists from AOH unite with Maryland Oncology Hematology's group of 21 physicians to provide comprehensive state-of-the-art cancer care in convenient, patient-friendly community settings.

By joining Maryland Oncology Hematology, AOH physicians can utilize Value Pathways powered by NCCN®-evidence-based treatment guidelines developed by physicians and clinicians in The Network together with NCCN-as well as collaborate with an expanded physician community aross the country through The US Oncology Network's 1,000 affiliated physicians. As members of The US Oncology Network, physicians and clinicians share expertise and best practices through committees, workshops, conferences and via The Oncology Portal, a secure on-line portal where physicians can share data and collaborate on complex cases. AOH also gains access to innovative technologies and services that will further support their operational efficiency.



The addition of AOH's seven highly-skilled medical oncologists and hematologists will bring new areas of expertise to Maryland Oncology Hematology and enhance opportunities for physician to physician collaboration. It also enables MOH to serve more patients in a timely fashion as well as expand its service area through the addition of AOH's two state-of-the-art treatment centers located in the Johns Hopkins Health Care and Surgery Center in Bethesda and in the Shady Grove Aquilino Cancer Center (ACC) in Rockville, Maryland. The addition of the well-respected AOH research program further strengthens MOH's treatment and research capabilities.

Associates in Oncology/Hematology (AOH) was founded in 1985 by Dr. James A. Brown (retired). Since that time, the practice has grown to seven medical oncologists and hematologists, four physician's assistants and nurse practitioners, and a team of oncology certified registered nurses.
