MEGA Named a Leader in Strategic Planning Market Report

MEGA International has been named a leader in The Forrester Wave™: Strategic Planning for the Business Technology (BT) Agenda, Q1, 2015.

According to the Forrester Research (News - Alert) report, subtitled The Top 11 Vendors in the Emerging Strategic Planning Market, "Customer demand has created an emerging market for integrated tools for strategy development and execution monitoring."

"In the age of the customer, firms are reinventing themselves on a continual basis. The agility required to take advantage of new opportunities or meet customer demands requires them to have greater transparency into the strategic planning process and have access to a broad range of performance data to improve decision making," the report continued.

Forrester conducted this research to help strategic planning roles select an appropriate tool for their strategy management process. The report highlights vendor capabilities in supporting the phases in the strategy development life cycle: environment assessment, strategic definition, options analysis and portfolio road map.

MEGA's 20 plus years of helping companies meet business challenges began with enterprise architecture (EA) software solutions. The company has grown into a global supplier of solutions that combine EA management with etensive risk management capabilities. MEGA's solutions for EA and governance, risk and compliance (GRC) are integrated on the company's HOPEX platform, which serves as a foundation for successful strategic planning. Companies use MEGA's solutions to gain visibility and insight into processes, risks and resources and help executives make better decisions in today's complex business environment.

"We believe our offerings provide a unique and successful way to accomplish strategic planning, Our customers tell us that MEGA has a very strong strategy and our offerings help them meet the new digital challenges they face in the 'age of the customer', which adds complexity and risks to the business," explained Lucio de Risi, CEO, MEGA. "For some time, we have seen the companies that are leaders in their own industries select the most recognized EA management software solutions as a means to advance their strategic goals. It is encouraging when business leaders and industry analysts recognize the value that EA solutions provide in helping enterprises achieve business transformation."

"In fact, several analyst firms predict that EA management tools will become an integral part of the strategic planning process within five years. MEGA already provides these solutions to support innovative enterprise architects who are on the leading edge of strategic planning and business transformation," continued de Risi.

Forrester's Report Methodology
Forrester developed a set of 31 evaluation criteria and three sets of score weightings that considered current offering, strategy and market presence. In addition, in order to be selected for evaluation in the report, vendors needed to have a purchasable product, global presence, packaged service offering and mindshare among the Forrester client base.

Forrester initially surveyed 35 vendors; 11 vendors met the selection criteria and are profiled in the report, as leaders, strong performers, contenders or risky bets.

Forrester identified four market segments in the strategic planning tools space: business planning, enterprise architecture management suites, portfolio management suites, and boutique or specialty offerings. While all vendors in the report provide basic strategic planning capabilities (assessment, direction, choice and road maps), Forrester identified the areas where vendors are differentiating themselves: self-service, integration and agility.

Forrester also identified three major customer roles for these tools, each needing slightly different capabilities: BT (News - Alert) strategists, enterprise architects and portfolio managers. For all three roles, MEGA received the highest score possible (a five in a 1-5 scale) in strategic planning SaaS (News - Alert) growth rate, market presence/installed base, global support, and assessment capabilities.
