Rudy Karsan Joins Accela Board of Directors


Accela, the leading provider of cloud-based civic engagement solutions for government, announced today that Rudy Karsan has joined the Accela (News - Alert) Board of Directors. Mr. Karsan is the founder of Kenexa and private investment firm Karlani Capital. The appointment coincides with Accela closing $143.5 million in equity financing, in which Karlani Capital participated.

As founder of Kenexa, a leading SaaS (News - Alert)-based provider of human capital management software, Karsan grew the business to $364 million in sales, serving more than 9,000 companies and 110 million users. In 2005, Karsan took the company public after completing more than 20 acquisitions and eventually sold the business to IBM (News - Alert) in 2012 for $1.3 billion. Karsan is a successful entrepreneur whose background in actuarial science paved the way for his success. He has been recognized fo his entrepreneurial and humanitarian achievements, is the author of a New York Times bestselling book on employee engagement, and currently serves on the board at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia and at CertusBank.
