Former Chairman and CEO of General Motors Company, and Vice Chairman, Carlyle Group, Daniel Akerson Joins Vixlet as Special Advisor to the Co-Founders


Vixlet, the Los Angeles based technology company, announces renowned Fortune 100 leader and prominent business executive Daniel "Dan" Akerson as special advisor to the co-founders. Akerson is former Chairman and CEO of General Motors, and also served on the board of American Express, AOL (News - Alert) Time Warner, Freescale Semiconductor, Booz Allen Hamilton and the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation.

Akerson is a pioneer and seasoned executive in the technology, financial, and automotive industries. He has served influential management roles including CFO and then President/COO at MCI Communications, Chairman and CEO of General Instruments, Nextel Communications and XO Communications (News - Alert).

At The Carlyle Group, Akerson serves as the firm's Vice Chairman and Special Advisor to the Board of Directors. He was previously the managing director and head of Global Buyout representing some of Carlyle's largest leveraged buyout funds.
