Treliant Risk Advisors Expands Its Data Risk Practice with the Hiring of Privacy and Information Security Experts, Daniel Goldstein and TJ Mueller Parks

Treliant Risk Advisors is expanding its data risk advisory capabilities with the hiring of two seasoned information security and privacy professionals. Daniel Goldstein and TJ Mueller Parks are industry veterans joining the firm as Senior Directors to enable Treliant to better assist its financial industry clients and other corporate entities to address escalating data risk and cybersecurity threats and regulatory requirements.

"The financial services industry is on the front line of data risk management challenges today, facing mounting cybersecurity threats, data privacy concerns, and information assurance requirements," said Treliant CEO Andrew L. Sandler. "Dan and TJ have designed and implemented successful data risk strategies at leading global enterprises across industries. They will play an important role in our rapidly expanding data risk practice, assisting our financial services and other clients to meet the challenges ahead."

"Treating data as an important strategic asset has always been a focus at Treliant, as we continue to imbed greater security and privacy management capabilities into our credit review systems and consulting projects," said Treliant Chief Business Officer Susanna Tisa. "Adding recognized experts like Dan and TJ to our team enhances Treliant's capabilities in providing clients with cutting edge solutions to their ever more complex data management challenges."

Dan Goldstein specializes in managing risk associated with international data protection and privacy. Previously, he served as a Director in the Privacy and Data Protection Practice at Promontory Financial Group where he contributed to the development of a U.S.- based privacy and data protection practice. His experience includes working with clients to identify data protection needs based on business and regulatory requirements, security risks, and information lifecycles. He has been responsible for the development of comprehensive international data transfer strategies and the implementation of an EU-focused privacy breach intake and response process. He has also held positions including Director, International Data Privacy, at Amgen, Inc. in Switzerland and Senior Manager, Deloitte (News - Alert) & Touche, LLP in San Francisco and New York, and he holds a law degree from the Golden Gate University School of Law.

TJ Parks has leadership experience in enterprise risk services, data privacy, and information security strategy and compliance. Previously, he served as a Director in the Privacy and Data Protection Practice at Promontory Financial Group. He has also held positions including Senior Manager, Technology Risk Services, at Deloitte & Touche, LLP in New York and Senior Privacy Manager at Microsoft (News - Alert) Corp. in Redmond, Washington. He has assisted organizations in assessing compliance with complex privacy, security, and data protection laws and regulations and has helped to develop scalable, repeatable, and sustainable programs and governance structures to support ongoing compliance.

"Data and privacy concerns affect all industries that deal with sensitive customer data, not just financial services firms," said Robert D. Broeksmit, Managing Director at Treliant. "Running large-scale forensic reviews on significant volumes of sensitive files in a highly secure environment is a core competency at Treliant. Dan and TJ's hands-on business knowledge enhances the suite of services we can provide to a broad array of clients across multiple industries."
