CyberGlove Systems Acquires Inertial Based Motion Capture Glove

CyberGlove Systems (CGS) has announced its recent acquisition of Animazoo-Synertial's IGS Glove at this year's Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, CA (News - Alert). As the worldwide leader in glove technology, CGS will now expand its product portfolio to include Animazoo-Synertial's IGS glove, which will now be known as the CyberGlove IGS.

"We are very excited to add the CyberGlove IGS to our product line," said Faisal Yazadi, CEO of CyberGlove Systems. "I believe this acquisition greatly enhances our ability to meet the needs of motion capture professionals, by streamlining their pipelines and reducing the time needed for post processing and analyzing data."

In addition to the bend sensor based CyberGlove III motion capture glove, CGS will now offer the inertial (IMU) based CyberGlove IGS motion capture glove. By offering a greater variety of hand-centric motion capture and hapticstechnologies, CGS will continue to be the one stop shop for the motion capture industry.

"CyberGlove Systems is the perfect fit for the IGS glove," said Ali Kord, CEO of Animazoo-Synertial. "They have been in this industry for over 20 years and are already the de-facto leader in glove technology including haptics. Adding an inertial based glove for motion capture will only strengthen their position as the leader in the marketplace."

CyberGlove Systems will be exhibiting in booth #2135 at GDC 2015 in San Francisco, CA from March 2-6.

About CyberGlove Systems

CyberGlove Systems is the worldwide leader in data glove technology and offers the most sophisticated hand-centric 3D motion capture solutions in the marketplace. CyberGlove Systems' products include five different data glove solutions and its VirtualHand Software Development Kit (SDK). Its products allow users to capture detailed finger, hand, and arm movement in virtual reality, allowing users to interact with digital objects in the virtual environment.

CGS technology benefits customers by allowing them to more quickly prototype and animate in virtual reality thereby saving them both time and money. Furthermore, CGS is the only data glove solution offering both kinesthetic force and vibrotactile feedback. This haptic technology benefits customers by simulating realistic physical forces such as gravity and touch for industrial engineering, military, and academic research applications.

About Animazoo-Synertial

Animazoo-Synertial is the pioneer of inertial motion capture and inertial hybrid motion capture technologies and has over 20 years of history collaborating with research teams in academia and industry in the fields of CG and animation, tremor and movement disorder, tele-medicine for post-op and stroke rehab, sports performance evaluation, ergonomics and assembly-line design used in PLM software.

Having introduced hybrid Mo-cap systems that paired inertial systems with optical and sonar systems, Animazoo-Synertial have heavily invested in R&D to develop new technologies to pair with inertial systems to result in easier use as well as more accurate data.
