Some key findings from the 4Q report include:
-
According to data reported to eVestment, the three most valuable
technology companies - Google, Apple and Microsoft - lead the rankings
for the third consecutive quarter as the most widely held companies in
eVestment's equity database.
-
Roche Holdings AG, previously ranked 19th, fell out of the top 20.
Comcast Corporation, which was previously ranked 13th, is now the 8th
most widely held stock.
-
Volatility in the energy sector helped drive decreases in allocations
to energy stocks across a variety of universes, including US Large Cap
Value Equity, US Large Cap Growth Equity, US Large Cap Core Equity and
Emerging Markets All Cap Equity as highlighted in the report.
-
New to the top 20 list from last quarter is Exxon Mobil (ranked 17th),
so while institutional investors may be decreasing allocations to
energy investments overall, this company looks to be beating that
trend.
-
Turmoil in Russia continues to impact investor interest in that
country, with Russia seeing the largest decrease in allocations in the
Emerging Markets All Cap Equity universe.
