It's a Collaboration Nation

CDW-G (NASDAQ: CDW (News - Alert)), a leading provider of integrated information technology solutions to education, government and healthcare, in partnership with eSchool News today announced the launch of Collaboration Nation - an awards program that will recognize the nation's finest examples of collaboration and successful educational technology projects. CDW-G will share the winning school and district's keys to success and will award that school or district a grand prize of $50,000 to spend with CDW-G on products and services from partners such as HP, Lenovo (News - Alert) and Meraki.

"Education is in the digital age, and technology is no longer a luxury, but a critical learning tool," said Geoff Fletcher, education industry expert and a Collaboration Nation judge. "More than ever, the long-term success of technology-driven projects requires that we bring together all departments - IT, curriculum, instruction and administration - and Collaboration Nation will recognize the schools and districts that have put in the hard work to make this happen."

From March 2 - June 30, 2015, schools and districts are invited to submit a nomination and short video at www.eschoolnews.com/collaboration. With a focus on cross-department collaboration, the winning school or district's nomination and video will demonstrate exemplary educational technology collaboration and how the project had a measurable impact on learning and teaching.

A distinguished four-judge panel, outlined below, will review all entries:

  • Geoff Fletcher, education industry expert: Fletcher is an education veteran and expert, having served in myriad roles including deputy executive director for SETDA, editorial director with two education publications, associate commissioner at the Texas Education Agency, assistant professor at Miami University (Ohio) and secondary school teacher
  • Luann Hughes (News - Alert), director of technology, Temple Independent School District: Hughes has been in public schools since 1979. She served as director of technology for Temple Independent School District for the past 14 years, and is also the current TCEA director for Area 12
  • Therese Mageau, editorial director, eSchool News: Mageau has been in the education marketplace for more than 25 years, developing a strong understanding of the ways technology impacts education
  • Eric Patnoudes, K-12 specialist, CDW-G: Patnoudes, a Microsoft (News - Alert) Expert Educator, former teacher and instructional technologist, works with curriculum and technology departments to make sure that common goals are identified and pursued responsibly, cohesively and strategically

CDW-G and eSchool News will announce the grand prize winner after June 30, 2015. A complete list of rules is available online at www.eschoolnews.com/collaboration/rules.

Schools and districts are also encouraged to be a part of the Collaboration Nation community on Facebook by sharing videos of collaboration successes. Each month (April, May and June), the school or district video that has the most shares on Facebook (News - Alert) will win a $15,000 prize in products from Collaboration Nation partners such as HP, Lenovo or Meraki.
