TestPlant launches eggPlant Network Delivering End-to-End Real User Experience Testing

TestPlant, the maker of the eggPlant range of software quality tools, today announced the launch of eggPlant Network. The product allows test and operations teams to emulate network conditions as part of the test and measurement of real user experience for digital services.

The assessment of how network conditions affect the user experience is often overlooked, as observed by leading technology research and advisory firm Forrester (News - Alert). There is a distinct gap in the armory of most enterprise "testing centers of excellence" for this element of testing application performance.

The eggPlant range already includes eggPlant Functional for automated GUI and device testing and eggPlant Performance for enterprise and cloud server testing. eggPlant Network adds a third and essential dimension to service assurance testing, allowing measurement of an app's performance over GPRS, EDGE, 3G, 4G, satellite and LAN/WAN connections.

The eggPlant Network appliance is easy-to-use. No network manageent experience is required - testers simply tell eggPlant Network where the client and the server are located and what's the network connection and its condition. eggPlant Network then automatically configures an accurate and repeatable emulation of that connection.
