ClearPath Networks Expands Leadership Team with Appointment of Michael Brenner


ClearPath Networks, Inc., a provider to telecommunications and cloud service providers of cloud-based virtual networking solutions, announced today at the opening of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute NFV Plenary in Prague that effective today, Michael Brenner has joined ClearPath and will take the lead on Product Strategy & Standardization.

ClearPath's longstanding focus in this area has become increasingly relevant to Operators who are seeking solutions that enable them to monetize NFV," said Brenner. "I felt that with ClearPath I had an opportunity to make a tremendous impact on helping Operators realize this vision we have all been working on since the inception of ETSI NFV," Brenner added.

Michael Brenner comes from Alcatel-Lucent (News - Alert) where he held the position as Senior Architect and Director in the CloudBand Business Unit of Alcatel-Lucent responsible for CloudBand's NFV platform architectural vision and NFV standardization strategy. Brenner in his current rle as vice-chair of ETSI (News - Alert) NFV ISG will remain a highly active contributor both in facilitating collaboration with Open Platform for NFV (OPNFV) where he has served on its Board of Directors, as well as with the ETSI NFV ISG's Interfaces and Architecture Working Group. Prior to this Michael led development for Service/Network/Policy Management systems and mobile application enablers for over 20 years, before moving to cloud and virtualization related projects.



In his role as Chief Architect for Applications Standards in S3G, Brenner technically led the Alcatel-Lucent delegations at the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) and OASIS. In the same role, he worked closely with internal product teams in Wireless, Advanced Communications (News - Alert), and S3G Platforms to select and design product technologies conducive to standardization, and led efforts of several service standards in OMA.

Brenner's professional distinctions include the Best Presentation Award (ICIN 2009), the Open Mobile (News - Alert) Alliance Excellence Award for Outstanding Contributions (2007) and a National Technology Team Award (1981). He has published numerous technical papers, and co-authored the book "The Open Mobile Alliance - Delivering Service Enablers for Next-Generation Applications" (John Wiley and Sons, 2008). Last but not least, in November 2014 he was awarded the first ETSI NFV ISG Excellence Award for his contributions to this forum, in particular for the resolution of Management and Orchestration issues.
