Mintz Levin Attorney Dionne Lomax to Speak at FTC and DOJ's Examining Health Care Competition Workshop


Dionne Lomax, a Member of the Antitrust Section of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., is participating in a roundtable discussion at the Examining Health Care Competition Workshop presented by the Federal Trade Commission (FC) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Antitrust Division. The conference will take place February 24-25 at the Constitution Center in Washington, D.C.



Ms. Lomax's roundtable discussion is entitled, "Antitrust Perspectives on Evolving Provider and Payment Models."

The FTC (News - Alert) and DOJ's Examining Health Care Competition Workshop will examine recent developments related to health care provider organization and payment models that may affect competition in the provision of health care services. Specific topics for discussion include: early observations regarding accountable care organizations; alternatives to traditional fee-for-service payment models; trends in provider consolidation; trends in provider network and benefit design strategies; and early observations regarding health insurance exchanges.


Ms. Lomax's antitrust and trade regulation practice includes counseling and representation in connection with merger and nonmerger related activities, litigation, and matters before the US Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). She has been involved in antitrust matters spanning a broad range of industries, but has particularly deep experience in the health care and energy sectors. In the health care industry, Ms. Lomax has represented large health systems, major medical associations, large multi-specialty physician groups, pharmaceutical companies, and medical device manufacturers in connection with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other commercial arrangements. She has counseled various clients in responding to antitrust investigations conducted by the DOJ, FTC, and various state antitrust agencies. Ms. Lomax previously served as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division Health Care Task Force Section.
