AHF Partners With National Organization of Black County Officials

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the largest global AIDS organization, announces that it has entered into a 2015 partnership with the National Organization of Black County Officials (NOBCO) to ensure that elected and appointed officials are working to expand outreach and HIV testing efforts within their communities.

"We're excited to partner with the National Organization of Black County Officials to promote HIV/AIDS awareness and treatment through local officials who have been entrusted by their neighbors to make decisions that improve the lives of their communities," said David Poole, Director of Legislative Affairs for AHF's Southern Bureau. "With STD and HIV/AIDS rates continuing to climb across the nation-especially within minority communities-we need to mobilize all available resources to protect as many families as possible from infection."

In a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), NOBCO will distribute AHF's informational material to its members and will encourage black county officials to attend AHF and HIV/AIDS related events. Likewise, AHF's staff will support and participate in selected NOBCO events, including providing condoms and HIV testing services.

Together NOBCOand AHF will collaborate to share data, resources, events, and other platforms to promote HIV/AIDS education and testing. The MOU will remain in effect until December 31, 2015 or unless modified or terminated by any one of the partners by mutual consent.
