PCI Council Champions Global Data Privacy Day

Today the PCI (News - Alert) Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) urged merchants, banks and technology vendors to make payment security a top priority in 2015, joining more than 200 global organizations in support of Data Privacy Day, an international awareness effort focused on respecting privacy, safeguarding data and enabling trust.

"The Council is pleased to champion this international awareness initiative, which is an excellent example of the kind of public-private collaboration that will help us drive improved understanding and education around data protection globally," said PCI SSC General Manager Stephen W. Orfei. "Building a culture of security vigilance is critical to safeguarding sensitive data against evolving cyber threats."

In support of Data Privacy Day and as part of its educational and training opportunities to foster ongoing security awareness and understanding, the Council will make Insider's Guide to PCI DSS 3.0 online training available for just $25 USD. Organizations can take advantage of this resource to build security practices across their business that address people, process and technology.

Developed in collaboration with eLearning provider Security Innovation, the 90-minute Insider's Guide to PCI DSS 3.0 mini-course is geared towards individuals responsible for PCI security efforts within an organization to help them in implementing the latest version of the PCI DSS.

Those wishing to access the course should use coupon code DPD15.
