Virtustream's Cloud Management Platform Software, xStream, Now Certified for VCE Vblock Systems for Private and Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure

Virtustream, the enterprise-class cloud software and services provider, today announced its xStream cloud management platform (CMP) software is now certified as Vblock® Ready for VCE® Vblock Systems. Targeting customers running SAP (News - Alert) applications, xStream will enable enterprises to easily move existing mission-critical workloads to Vblock System-based Private or Hybrid cloud environments, gaining performance and security improvements without re-engineering software. Virtustream is now also a member of the VCE Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program.

With the option of adding xStream to the Vblock System software stack, enterprises will be able to deploy enterprise applications like SAP on a production-ready IT infrastructure managed by a CMP stack that is purpose-built to optimize infrastructure and manage the applications residing upon it. This architecture is designed to lower costs, speed deployment, and enhance the security, compliance and performance of applications running in private, hybrid and federated clouds.

"VCE is pleased to welcome Virtustream as a Technology Alliance Partner for VCE Vblock Systems," said DJ Long, senior director, Technology Allinces, VCE. "As a VCE TAP partner, Virtustream can now integrate its products with Vblock Systems, delivering transformative data center solutions for mutual customers that enable the agility, simplicity and economics of converged infrastructure with Virtustream cloud management software."

In addition, Virtustream is now offering an EMC (News - Alert)-Powered Cloud Service option as part of its enterprise class cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service in North America and will utilize EMC® VMAX® technology for on-demand storage for mission-critical SAP workloads. Virtustream's xStream software and its underlying Micro-VMTM (µVM) technology, together with EMC storage solutions enable enterprises to enjoy consumption-based pricing, while receiving top-tier SLAs and improving the overall performance of mission-critical applications such as SAP. As a result, customers are able to move any production and mission-critical enterprise applications to the cloud and combine on-site and cloud-based operations as required.

"Our collaboration with Virtustream is architected to help deliver mission-critical cloud applications to our customers," said Tony McCoy, Vice President, Americas Service Providers and Alliances, EMC Corporation. "Now, our enterprise clients seeking application performance in cloud environments can run these applications with xStream on an on-premise pre-engineered Vblock System optimized for SAP, in Virtustream's EMC powered SAP IaaS Cloud, or in a Hybrid model."

"We are very excited to expand our bilateral channel relationship with EMC and VCE," said Rodney Rogers (News - Alert), Chairman and CEO of Virtustream. "Virtustream is the market leader in delivering mission critical SAP solutions in the cloud and EMC and VCE are market leaders in delivering enterprise infrastructure solutions for SAP systems. Through this collaboration customers now have the option to leverage market-leading converged infrastructure solutions from VCE powered by the xStream cloud management platform software for private cloud deployments, and further also have the ability to access Virtustream's SAP IaaS platform for hybrid cloud and hosted private cloud deployments powered by EMC solutions."
