Redfin Hires Lorraine Woellert as Senior Real Estate Correspondent

Redfin (www.redfin.com), the customer-first real estate brokerage, today announced that Lorraine Woellert has joined its ranks as senior real estate correspondent. Woellert comes to Redfin from Bloomberg (News - Alert) News, where she reported on housing and mortgage policy, the economy and national politics. In her new role, she will contribute commentary dedicated to all things housing, keeping consumers up to date on market trends, policy developments and industry news relevant to buyers, sellers and renters.

Woellert joins a team of data scientists led by Redfin Chief Economist Nela Richardson (News - Alert), Ph.D. Woellert will mine Redfin's wealth of data and gather insights from Redfin agents and customers to tell stories that help consumers make better-informed decisions.

"Lorraine brings to Redfin an experienced journalist's ability to see around corners and capture the latest economic and real estate trends affecting homebuyers and sellers," Richardson said. "Her strong point of view and opinionated writing style paired with Redfin's trove of proprietary data and agent insights will help tell stories in a way that no one else can."

"I was a Redfin evangelist long before I ever thought of working here," Woellert said. "It wasn't just the handy app and all the information and features on the website. What sold me was Redfin's mission to make home buying and selling better for consumers by combining technology with service from its own agents."

Woellert also published her own account of why she made the move to join Redfin, available on the Redfin blog at the following link: ttp://blog.redfin.com/blog/2015/01/why-i-came-to-redfin-lorraine-woellert.html.
