Wind River Receives 2014 M2M Evolution IoT Excellence Award

Wind River®, a world leader in delivering software for intelligent connected systems, has been recognized with a 2014 M2M Evolution IoT Excellence Award for Wind River Edge Management System. The cloud-based Internet of Things (IoT) platform enables devices to connect securely to a centralized console, providing device management and solution extensibility.

The 2014 M2M Evolution IoT Excellence Award, presented by TMC and Crossfire Media, honors innovative products that support the availability of information being deduced, inferred and directly gathered from sensors, systems and anything else that is supporting better business and personal decisions.

Edge Management System is a pre-integrated technology stack running from the device to the cloud. The Edge Management System agent enables cloud connectivity to facilitate capabilities such as data capture, rules-based data analysis and response, configuration, and file transfer. It allows customers toquickly build industry-specific IoT solutions and integrate disparate enterprise IT systems, utilizing API management. The cloud-based middleware runs from the embedded device up through the cloud to reduce time-to-market and total cost of ownership. Edge Management System is an integral part of Intel® IoT Platform, and supports a wide variety of hardware and operating systems, providing customers with maximum flexibility in IoT implementations.

"We are honored to receive this recognition, and pleased to deliver a product to market that is accelerating business transformation and allowing industries to realize the benefits of IoT," said Ido Sarig, vice president and general manager of IoT solutions at Wind River (News - Alert). "Wind River is applying its longstanding expertise as a leader in embedded technology to the IoT opportunity, and it is extremely gratifying to be recognized for our innovation in the space."

"It is my pleasure to recognize Wind River Edge Management System with a M2M Evolution IoT Excellence Award for its excellence in innovation," said Carl Ford (News - Alert), CEO & Community Developer, Crossfire Media. "As a leader in this rapidly evolving industry, I look forward to seeing Wind River's future successes."

This recognition comes on the heels of Wind River winning the 2014 Carrier Network Virtualization Award for its Wind River Titanium Server, a carrier grade Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) infrastructure software solution.

Edge Management System is part of Wind River's comprehensive product portfolio that is ideally suited to address the emerging needs of the IoT, from the management of intelligent devices at the edge, to the gateway, into the network infrastructure, and up into the cloud.
