Radware’s Attack Mitigation Device Helps Protect Data Centres of Leading Telecom Provider

Manx Telecom deploys Radware’s DefensePro to help protect its networks on the Isle of Man London, UK; January 13, 2015 – Radware® (NASDAQ: RDWR), a leading provider of application delivery and application security solutions for virtual and cloud data centres, announced that Manx Telecom, the leading provider of hosting and communications solutions on the Isle of Man has selected Radware’s DefensePro® to help protect its network from DDoS attacks and offer customers a cyber-attack mitigation service.

Manx Telecom offers a full range of fixed line, mobile, data and hosting services to businesses, consumers, and the public sector on the Isle of Man. Internationally, Manx Telecom provides world class data centre and hosting solutions, connectivity and a growing portfolio of innovative communication solutions, which includes Smart SIMs and machine to machine.

With the need to protect two internet-facing data centres for mobile & fixed broadband and corporate and hosting networks, Manx Telecom was looking for a reliable solution with a greater level of protection against volumetric and application layer attacks. After a six-month process of reviewing solutions from other vendors, Radware’s DefensePro was selected.

Radware’s DefensePro is a real-time, behavioural based attack mitigation device that protects against network and application downtime, application vulnerability exploitation, malware spread, network anomalies, information theft and other emerging cyber-attacks. DefensePro can be deployed inline or out-of-path (OOP) in a scrubbing centre to provide the highest mitigation accuracy within the shortest time.

“Radware’s ability to mitigate at the edge of the network with a scalable solution that can grow with our needs was a deciding factor for us,” says Kevin Paige, chief technology officer at Manx Telecom. “With DefensePro, we’ll have the capacity to maintain business continuity by blocking attacks and not the traffic of legitimate users at the edge of the network, providing our customers with a greater level of protection than was previously possible.” Adrian Crawley, regional director for Radware UK and Ireland, adds: “In our recent Global applications and Security report, we found that ISPs and hosting companies were the most at risk of cyber attack in 2014. Having a hybrid solution that fights back at both the network and application level will be imperative for resilience and data integrity. It will also ensure continuity of service for its customers who depend on them to keep their own Internet operations available.” A full copy of Radware’s fourth ‘Global Application and Security Report’ is available at http://www.radware.com/ert-report-2014/.
