VCA Teams Up with the Los Angeles Kings to Support Animal Welfare


VCA has teamed up with the Los Angeles Kings in an ongoing partnership that includes fundraisers and volunteer events and activities for the benefit of animals in need. Both VCA and the LA Kings are committed to supporting community animal welfare partners so they can improve and enhance the lives of countless disadvantaged cats and dogs. Blanket drives, fundraisers and adoption fairs are some of the upcoming community initiatives that can aid the hundreds of thousands of animals who need a much needed helping hand to find forever homes.

Recent events included a blanket and pet supplies drive where LA Kings personnel collected the items at the entrances to STAPLES Center. The blankets and supplies were then distributed to Best Friends Animal Society, one of Los Angeles' leading no kill animal sanctuaries.

On January 10, 2015, the LA Kings Dog Bowl Auction presented by VCA tkes place during the game against the Winnipeg Jets at STAPLES Center. The Kings Care Foundation will conduct a silent auction which features pet bowls designed and decorated by the Kings and their significant others, and signed by the players. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Los Angeles (spcaLA).



Upcoming initiatives with the LA Kings and VCA include a major pet adoption fair that fans can get involved with and other community events that support treatment, housing and adoption of homeless pets.

In its 17-year history, the Kings Care Foundation has donated over seven million in monetary and in-kind support to the local Los Angeles community. In addition to their ongoing animal welfare support, the Kings Care Foundation recently announced a $1 million commitment to the LA Kings BloodMobile, which serves as a blood drive supply truck to increase the much needed collection of life-saving blood for the most seriously ill and injured children at Children's Hospital Los Angeles as well as a $1 million donation to Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, to fund the construction of the camp's Dining Hall and Activity Center.
