Frontier Silicon Brings Spotify Connect to Harman Kardon Networked AV Receivers

Frontier Silicon, the world's leading supplier of connected audio and digital radio technology solutions, announces that its Chorus 3 connected audio processor has been updated to add Spotify (News - Alert) Connect and other network audio functionality to a range of Harman Kardon's Audio Video Receivers (AVRs).

The Chorus 3 processor supports streaming Internet Radio and audio playback from DLNA/UPnP or USB devices using a wide range of formats including MP3, AAC+, WMA, WAV (News - Alert), FLAC and LPCM. The firmware provided with the chip includes a highly dependable networking stack, providing a cost effective solution for high quality connected audio systems such as AVRs, Hi-Fi tuners, Wireless speakers, and Home Theatre in a Box (News - Alert) (HTiB).

The Harman Kardon AVR 151 / 161 AVRs (pictured) are high performance 5.1 channel networked AV receivers, with multiple connectivity options including Ethernet, HDMI, Bluetooth, and USB. The latest iteration of Chorus 3 firmware adds Spotify Connect capability to the AVRs, allowing Spotify users to access their favourite tracks and playlists directly from the receivers.
