Next-gen Cybersecurity Threats, Privacy Issues, and IT Audit and Governance Tools to be Featured at ISACA's North America CACS Conference


In the wake of large-scale hacks and breaches, companies are increasingly prioritizing cybersecurity, privacy, assurance and risk management. ISACA's North America CACS conference will help business and IT leaders address these critical topics 16-18 March 2015 in Orlando, Florida, USA. Attendees will gain guidance to face today's challenges and stay ahead of trends on the horizon.

ISACA, a nonprofit global association serving more than 115,000 professionals, will offer 60 sessions in seven tracks for the North America Computer Audit, Control and Security (CACS) Conference: IS Audit & Assurance, Emerging Data Solutions, Security/Cybersecurity, Privacy, GRC, Career & Communications Management, and Forums/Megatrends. Session topics include governance, security audit tools, fraud, big data, emerging technologies, the role of the auditor and career development.

The conference will feature three keynote speakers who will address cybersecurity, workplace culture and Internet governance:

  • Marc Goodman, a global strategist, author and consultant, is focused on the disruptive impact of advancing technologies on security, business and international affairs. In his 20 years of experience in security threats such as cybercrime, cyberterrorism and information warfare, he has worked with Interpol, the United Nations, NATO, the U.S. government and other government agencies.
  • Conor Cunneen is an award-winning business humorist and motivational business speaker. Cunneen will provide a comedic and insghtful session on The Gift of G.A.B. (Goals, Attitude, Behavior) to improve the workplace.
  • Beth Simone Noveck, founder and director of The Governance Lab and its MacArthur Research Network on Opening Governance, will discuss the governance of open data and using advances in technology and science to change approaches to governance. She will also reveal developments on a global system for managing how the Internet is governed. She spearheaded President Obama's open government effort and served as the first U.S. Deputy Chief Technology Officer from 2009 to 2011. Due to her successes with President Obama's Open Government Initiative, UK Prime Minister David Cameron appointed her Senior Advisor for Open Government.



Pre- and post-conference workshops will offer hands-on training in privacy impact assessments, and applied data analysis. Additionally, a cybersecurity workshop will help attendees prepare for the new Cybersecurity Fundamentals Certificate exam. A COBIT 5 for Assurance post-conference workshop will help attendees more deeply understand this business framework that helps enterprises worldwide govern and manage their information and technology.

Registration for North America CACS is US $1,595 for ISACA members and US $1,795 for nonmembers. A US $200 discount off of these prices will be applied to registrations received before 20 January 2015. Attendees can earn up to 39 continuing professional education (CPE) hours.
