Turkcell CEO Sureyya Ciliv Elected to the Board of the GSMA


Turkcell (News - Alert) (NYSE:TKC) (BIST:TCELL), Turkey's leading telecoms and technology company, was recently elected to be a member of the Board for the GSMA. With this election, Turkcell becomes the only operator from Turkey to serve on the GSMA (News - Alert) Board during the 2015-2016 term.

The GSMA represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide and unites nearly 800 operators with the broader mobile ecosystem, including handset and device makers, software companies, equipment providers and Internet companies, as well as organisations in adjacent industry sectors.

GSMA Board consists of 26 members, including Anne Bouverot, the Director General of GSMA, and representatives of 25 mobile operators from around the world. The Board provides strategic direction for the GSMA, guiding the organisation in developing initiatives and programmes that drive innovation and growth across the industry and benefit billions of mobile subscribers globally.

The recently-elected Board of the GSMA starts its term on January 1st, 2015.
