Jo-Ann Inspires Creativity This Holiday Season with Social Media Holiday Hub and #makeitgiveit Campaign

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, the nation's leading fabric and craft specialty retailer, is inspiring creativity this holiday season by launching a social media-driven Holiday Hub and partnering with the National Military Family Association for the #makeitgiveit campaign.

"Jo-Ann customers love to share their creations, and they love to give back to causes they believe in," said Nicole Long, manager, inspiration at Jo-Ann. "Share.joann.com and the #makeitgiveit partnership with the National Military Family Association give the Jo-Ann customer an opportunity to do both of those things this holiday season while encouraging each other through social media. We're really looking forward to seeing what our customers create and share."

The focal point of the Jo-Ann Holiday Hub is customer-created projects in a live social media feed. Located at share.joann.com, the Holiday Hub also features trend-forward ideas from some of the most popular bloggers in DIY as well as trend information and inspiration from Jo-Ann experts.

To be featured on share.joann.com, customers can share their project on Facebook (News - Alert), Instagram or Twitter and tag their posts with #makeitgiveit. Not only will they have a chance to be featured on the Holiday Hub, but customers who share their posts on Instagram using #makeitgiveit will be entered to win one of five $100 Jo-Ann gift cads. Complete rules for the #makeitgiveit sweepstakes can be found at bit.ly/MIGI14.

#Makeitgiveit is more than just an online sweepstakes; it is a partnership between Jo-Ann and the National Military Family Association this holiday season. Now through December 24, at all Jo-Ann stores nationwide, customers will have the opportunity to craft greeting cards to be delivered to military members and families through the NMFA's network.

The goal is to create more than 125,000 cards to be distributed as part of the #makeitgiveit program. NMFA works to strengthen and protect military families through their advocacy, scholarship programs and Operation Purple Camps. The #makeitgiveit cards, which will not be holiday-specific, will be used to help bring joy to the military families NMFA supports year-round.

To participate in the #makeitgive card initiative, visit your local Jo-Ann store and ask a Team Member to direct you to the designated crafting area. Participation is free of charge, and Jo-Ann and NMFA will distribute the cards at the completion of the program.

In addition to inspiring creativity, Jo-Ann is making gift giving easier this holiday season. To learn more and make gifts merrier, visit Joann.com/holiday-gifts. To learn more about the National Military Family Foundation and their mission, visit MilitaryFamily.org.
