F5 Wins Best LTE Roaming Product Award at LTE North America 2014

F5 Networks (NASDAQ: FFIV) has been recognized with Informa Telecoms' LTE North America Award for the Best LTE (News - Alert) Roaming Product. Winners were selected during the LTE North America Conference, recently held in Dallas, Texas. The award program recognizes LTE-related solutions, vendors, and carriers that are exceptional in their area. Honorees are credited with making LTE more attractive for operators to deploy, and contributing to the success of commercial LTE deployments.

Sue Rudd, director of service provider analysis for Strategy Analytics (News - Alert), Inc. and a judge for the LTE North America LTE roaming award noted, "As LTE increases signaling traffic for roaming with IPX and voice fallback to 3G networks, it is important for operators' signaling solutions to optimize integrated signaling and routing control-as F5 emphasized in its presentation during Signaling Day at the LTE conference, 'When Flexibility in Routing is Supreme.' F5's Traffix Signaling Delivery Controller offers an integrated, scalable multiservice platform that is a powerful part of its routing and control solution."

The F5 Traffix Signaling Delivery Controller (SDC) helps overcome industry challenges around LTE deployments, specifically the constant growth of smartphone use and the resulting needfor operators to manage the subsequent uncontrolled signaling between network elements in order to maintain network performance.

The F5 Traffix SDC features a context-aware routing engine for reliable signaling overload control and the network visibility required for immediate identification and prevention of service issues. It has been selected by more than 60 operators worldwide for network signaling control and to achieve optimal network performance and reliability.

"This is the second consecutive year that F5 has been recognized by Informa with an LTE award-winning the 'Best LTE Core Network Element' in 2013-reinforcing the success our Diameter solution is seeing in the market," said Mallik Tatipamula, vice president of service provider solutions at F5. "When the F5 Traffix SDC is part of an LTE roaming deployment, its Diameter Edge Agent (DEA) ensures that all peer connections are secured and protected by normalizing the flow of signaling messages, preventing failover or many other situations that could negatively impact performance in either the visited or home network. Continued industry recognition serves as a proof point that the team's efforts are paying dividends."
