Health Partners Plans Readies for Rollout of Healthy PA

Health Partners Plans, recently named the #1 Medicaid plan in Pennsylvania, is poised to launch Health Partners Essential - its newest health plan through the Healthy PA program. Healthy PA made reforms to Medicaid and offers a Private Coverage Option (PCO). Health Partners Essential is Health Partners Plans PCO for uninsured adults ages 21 to 64 who are not eligible for Medicaid and reside in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties.

After an initial assessment by DPW, individuals are either deemed eligible for the revised Medicaid option or the PCO option. Healthy PA-eligible residents can begin enrolling in Health Partners Essential during the Healthy PA open enrollment period, which began on December 1.

Health Partners Essential provides broad healthcare coverage that includes PCP and specialist office visits, hospital and lab services, prescriptions, routine eye exams and immunizations. In addition Health Partners Essential offers extra benefits, like fitness center memberships, Weight Watchers^®, maternity care program, 24-hour health advice line and more.

Interested adults can find out if they qualify for Healthy PA by applying online at www.compass.state.pa.us, by calling 1-866-550-4355 to request a paper application or by visiting their County Assistance Office to apply in person. Once eligible, residents can enroll in Health Partners Essential by calling PA Enrollment Services at 1-800-440-3989 (TTY 1-800-618-4225) Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
