Contenix Integrates With Box for Smarter Collaboration Within Its Product Information Management Platform

SUNNYVALE, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Contenix Inc. today announced an integration with Box (News - Alert) to offer its Product Information Management (PIM) software to the more than 240,000 businesses currently using Box. Contenix is a fast, easy and accessible PIM solution for brands and manufacturers that need to manage, edit and selectively distribute product data and media to different internal and external channels.

Today's consumers shop across multiple platforms and expect a brand's product information to be accurate and up-to-date everywhere-in-store, on retail websites, on social media channels and across mobile devices. Given these heightened customer expectations, managing product information across dispersed channels has become increasingly challenging for many businesses.

Contenix addresses these challenges with its enterprise-class PIM solution. It helps companies realize benefits including a larger and more accurate product assortment within the channel, faster product speed-to-market and a more consistent customer experience across all sales channels.

A Forrester (News - Alert) Report1 recently reinforced the value of tools like Contenix, noting that "PIM is now imperative for managing a customer-facing product strategy…failure to do so can often result in consumers being misled into buying the wrong products or products that do not meet their expectations, which in turn affects return rates, customer satisfaction, and brand advocacy metrics - and ultimately margin."

With the new Box integration, companies can take advantage of PIM to ensure product data, merchandising and syndication is delivered to internal departments and external partners in real-time. Specifically, brands and manufacturers can now:

  • Use a product-centric platform to manage product data, including product images, taxonomy & hierarchy, descriptions and attributes (meta-data)
  • Attach Box media and images to Contenix-managed product listings
  • Import Box product data files (XLS/CSV) to Contenix
  • Manage multilingual product data from one login
  • Manage customized product data assortments for different endpoints
  • Selectively distribute product data across their sales channels

Until now, enterprise-class PIM solutions have been costly, required long contract commitments and have taken months to deploy. They were available only to very large companies that could afford to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on highly customized solutions and required substantial ongoing costs for software maintenance and professional services.

Conversely, many small and mid-sized companies have cobbled together their own content management solutions by adding marketing staff to respond to inbound requests, managing data in spreadsheets, manually zipping up media and data files and emailing data to partners one at a time. These methods become increasingly inefficient and costly as a business grows.

A global study on the ROI of PIM2 demonstrated real business benefits. The study from Informatica found that 69% of companies with a PIM significantly improved customer acquisition, 57% reported an increase in sales per customer and 80% achieved higher margins.

"Effective selling requires that brands can easily access and collaborate on dynamic product information - many companies, including our customers, have relied on Box to do this," says Contenix CEO Lawrence Kosick. "Bringing our enterprise-class PIM solution to the space where our customers already work was a logical move for Contenix. This integration will help companies thrive in a new retail landscape where multi-channel has become the norm."
