Molex Showcases Encompass Program Solutions at Rockwell Automation Fair 2014

Molex Incorporated will bring a range of Rockwell Automation (News - Alert) Encompass Program solutions to the upcoming Automation Fair 2014, November 19 - 20, Anaheim, CA. At booth 612, Molex will present four different demonstrations and multiple displays featuring advanced automation technologies.

Additionally, Molex (News - Alert) global product manager Eric Gory will conduct an Encompass Partner technical session titled A Smooth PROFIBUS Redundancy Solution for the Logix Family of Controllers. Aimed at implementing system redundancy in control applications deploying PROFIBUS DP, Molex proposes an easy, open and efficient architecture based on a Brad® SST™ Remote module connected over EtherNet/IP.

• CompactLogix Universal Modbus Module Demonstration features the new communication module simultaneously transferring data between Modbus serial and Modbus TCP devices.
• CompactLogix PROFIBUS Module Demonstration features the new master/slave communication module simultaneously transferring data between various PROFIBUS devices.
• Demonstration shows how a new Molex Add-On-Instruction allows any Logix controller to exchange data with the Molex DeviceNet eNetMeter™ diagnostic system, which allows, real-time monitoring, alarming and archiving DeviceNet conditions.
• Featuring submerged operational equipment to simulate a harsh environment application, an IP67 Remote PROFIBUS Scanner demonstration shows the tough, water resistance of rugged industrial communication devices and connectors.

Fully integrated into the Rockwell Automation environment, Molex Brad SST communication modules and software maximize network flexibility and enable rapid connection of Rockwell ControlLogix systems to PROFIBUS, EtherNet/IP and other networks for high speed deterministic communication.

• Brad SST ControlLogix PROFIBUS DP-V0 Slave Modules streamline and optimize the performance of automation equipment on a PROFIBUS DP-V0 networks for ControlLogix controllers in standard, harsh and corrosive environments.
• A linking device with on-board PROFIBUS and Ethernet communication ports, the Brad SST IP67 PB3 Remote Module for PROFIBUS provides a fast, easy solution for adding PROFIBUS master and slave connectivity to Rockwell Logix Controllers. The harsh duty design allows the PB3 module to be installed directly on the machine or in the field for close proximity to devices, which lowers cabling costs and eliminates the added expense of enclosure mounting.
• Featuring wider temperature ranges and conformal coating, Brad SST CLXT Modules are harsh-duty communication components designed for use with Rockwell XT PLCs.
• Brad SST Ethernet and Serial Communication Modules provide faster and easier connection from Modbus serial, Modbus/TCP and Siemens (News - Alert) Industrial Ethernet to Rockwell Automation ControlLogix and CompactLogix controllers.
• Brad Software Stack Development Kits, which are now available in the Rockwell Encompass Program, allow cost effective, easy integration and implementation of EtherNet/IP and CIP Safety protocols.
