"We created the VS-050 aseptic robot because of rapidly increasing demand in the pharmaceutical, medical and life sciences sectors," said Peter Cavallo, robotics sales manager, DENSO Products & Services Americas, Inc. "Now our customers in those areas with sterilization requirements can benefit from the high speed and other outstanding features of the VS Series."

A protective outer coating and sealed joints allow the VS-050 to be safely sterilized with hydrogen peroxide or UV light. The smooth, rounded exterior of the robot has no external screws, to keep dirt, dust or other contaminants from adhering to its surface. Wires are internally embedded up to the flange and the control-cable connector is located on the bottom of the robot, further streamlining th arm and facilitating cleaning.

DENSO's VS-Series robots offer the world's highest speed and precision in their class. The VS-050 aseptic model has a cycle time of 0.37 sec. and repeatability of ±0.02 mm, with a reach of 520 mm and a payload capacity of 4 kg.

Typical applications of the VS-050 include assembly, dispensing, inspection, machine tending, material handling, packaging and test handling.
