MTS revenues fall 1.5% in Q3 [Emirates News Agency (WAM) (United Arab Emirates)]

(Emirates News Agency (WAM) (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Manitoba Telecom Services (MTS) reported third-quarter revenues of CAD 402.4 million, down 1.5 percent from a year earlier. EBITDA reached CAD 140.1 million, a fall of 1.8 percent, and free cash flow was CAD 27.6 million, down from CAD 45.4 million a year earlier due to higher capex. Earnings per share fell to CAD 0.47 from CAD 0.62 a year ago to higher depreciation and amortisation for Allstream pending its sale.

MTS said it saw a slowdown in wholesale wireless revenues and short-term softness in wireless pricing, which is expected to impact 2014 results. In Q3, Wireless revenues fell 1.8 percent to CAD 93.5 million, and local access revenues were down 8.3 percent to CAD 58.7 million. Broadband and IP revenues were up 4.8 percent to CAD 60.9 million. Allstream posted revenues down 3.3 percent to CAD 158.7 million.
