Brocade Expands Its Revolutionary Subscription Model to Include Solutions from Aruba Networks

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 11 November 2014 Release date- 10112014 - SAN JOSE, CA - Brocade (NASDAQ: BRCD) and Aruba Networks (NASDAQ: ARUN) today announced that they have entered into an agreement that will allow customers to procure integrated wired and wireless solutions leveraging Brocade's innovative acquisition model, Brocade Network Subscription.

This unique acquisition model enables customers to subscribe to the network infrastructure they need as-a-service using OpEx funds, with no upfront capital spending.

Brocade Network Subscription has expanded beyond Brocade product lines to include Aruba's gigabit Wireless LAN (802.11ac) Mobility Controllers and Access Points, as well as ClearPass Access Management, AirWave Network Management, and Meridian Apps.

Under the terms of the agreement, customers subscribing to solutions from Aruba Networks are able to procure them via a Brocade Network Subscription agreement, provided that the transaction is substantially comprised of Brocade enterprise products. This allows greater scalability and upgradability, as well as freedom from term commitments and product depreciation cycles through a monthly OpEx fee.

This flexibility is critical for enterprises and service providers that must support their growing network needs as part of the transition to the New IP. The New IP is a dramatic evolution in networking resulting from the scale, speed, and scope of growing cloud, mobile, and social requirements.

Brocade Network Subscription customers will benefit from: Pay-as-you-go pricing with the flexibility to upgrade at any time, free from term commitments and depreciation cycles Up-and-down scalability to adjust to changing business needs The ability to align IT infrastructure capacity and project costs with network demand and benefits The ability to balance OpEx and CapEx with fiscal certainty to better manage cash flow 'Today, customers are seeking innovative technologies to drive their businesses forward and to service an increasingly demanding end user audience. But one of the key limitations stifling this effort is the capital funding process,' said Jeff Lindholm, Senior Vice President Worldwide Sales, Brocade.

'Budgets are being squeezed more than ever before, so organizations-particularly those in state and local government and education-are looking for the channel and vendors to deliver innovative ways to procure and deploy solutions. Brocade and Aruba recognize this, and today's announcement illustrates our joint commitment to helping organizations realize tomorrow's network today, and to deliver limitless scalability.' 'This innovative network subscription model enables Aruba's and Brocade's joint channel partners and customers to benefit from additional flexibility,' said John DiLullo, Executive Vice President, Aruba Networks. 'As organizations strive to deliver always-on network services to their employees and customers, their ability to cost-efficiently acquire the necessary infrastructure at the right time is critical to their success. Aruba and Brocade have delivered a solution that scales on demand as customer requirements change, resulting in an attractive option when selecting the right network infrastructure.' This agreement extends the partnership between Brocade and Aruba. Both companies are helping address key enterprise networking challenges, including the proliferation of mobile devices within campus environments, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiatives, and emerging technologies such as Software-Defined Networking (SDN).
