Audience introduces eS800 series with new voice features [New Vision (Uganda)](New Vision (Uganda) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Advanced voice processor provider, Audience has announced its new eS800 series of Advanced Voice processors for consumer devices requiring sophisticated far field and barge-in capabilities. The eS800 series is the first product line with Audience's fifth generation Advanced Voice capabilities and a new Smart Audio Codec implementation. The eS804 is a stand-alone advanced voice processor while the eS854 incorporates Audience's latest Smart Audio Codec. Both products in the eS800 series are designed to support devices that demand far field capabilities, where voice interface needs to work at distances up to five metres. A new barge-in capability allow voice recognition to work during media playback without interruption, as well as Voice Compass, a new feature that recognises the position of the speaker relative to the device to improve speakerphone usage. The eS800 series also features improvements to VoiceQ with improved accuracy for user trained keywords resulting in less false wake-ups. Several voice quality improvements for handset usage have also been made, including: new noise suppression algorithms based on machine learning techniques, SNRI improvements of more than 6dB enabling clear calls in challenging environments, and improved positional robustness for natural and smoother sounding voice quality when holding the device in almost any position. The eS854 incorporates all of the advanced voice features of the eS804, and also includes Audience's new Smart Audio Codec which is a full-featured sub-system consisting of multiple ADCs and DACs to satisfy a broad range of industry configuration options. This codec product integrates both analogue and digital microphone capture, as well as headphone, earpiece and Stereo Class-D amplifiers, resulting in a fully integrated single-chip audio hub system. The eS854 features industry leading signal-to-noise ratio for the purest audio delivery in smartphones. In addition to high fidelity playback and capture, up to 192 kHz, the Smart Audio Codec provides advanced accessory detection and multi-button capability for universal headset support. Audience Smart Audio Codecs also include intelligent power control for longer battery life during audio playback.
