Extension Healthcare to Highlight Regional Customers at Midwest HIMSS

FORT WAYNE, Ind. --(Business Wire)--

Extension Healthcare, the next-generation alarm management and event response solution provider, will exhibit at the upcoming Midwest HIMSS Fall Technology Conference. Clinical alarm safety experts will be available to discuss recent deployments in the region including Louis Stokes VA Medical Center, Orange (News - Alert) City Area Health System, and Mercy Hospital Fairfield. Extension Engage™ combines alarms, alerts, and patient-centric text messaging into a single platform that manages these various communications simultaneously to reduce overall nursing interruptions and alarm fatigue.

From November 12-14, stakeholders across the healthcare continuum will gather for "Endless Possibilities", a theme that considers emerging technologies and future innovations along with trends and guidance on a variety of HIT measures. Extension Healthcare will present its new "Day in the Life of Nurse Lisa" video to demonstrate how advanced clinical integration achieved through the Engage enterprise platform is a necessary addition to a hospital's communication infrastructure.

"We are excited to present our alarm management and event response platform to the various stakeholders representing clinical alarm safety committees, who are interested in learning more about our 'traffic co' approach," said Todd Plesko, CEO at Extension Healthcare.

By year's end, hospitals must take steps to prioritize clinical alarm safety in order to maintain accreditation with The Joint Commission in compliance with its new National Patient Safety Goal. Engage unifies alarms, alerts, and patient-centric texts to help hospitals overcome widespread problems inherent to healthcare - alarm safety and caregiver communication challenges.

"Hospitals have traditionally viewed alarm fatigue and secure text messaging as two unrelated pain points with separate solutions, but they are beginning to recognize that identifying improvements in staff communications and managing the interruptions generated by alarms, alerts, and text messages are twin problems that should be addressed as a single project," said Plesko. "A next-generation alarm safety and event response platform is required to support this level of clinical collaboration."

Those wanting to schedule a demonstration or meeting with Extension at the Midwest HIMSS Fall Technology Conference can submit a request to [email protected]. Extension will have alarm management experts in Premier booth #19 in the Promenade Ballroom.
