Adimec Earns CoaXPress Version 1.0 and 1.1 Compliance Certification for Machine Vision and Global Security Cameras

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) EINDHOVEN, THE NETHERLANDS -- (Marketwired) -- 11/05/14 -- Adimec (www.adimec.com), a world leader in application-specific, leading-edge industrial camera solutions, today announced that new members of its QUARTZ (Q-12A180) and TMX-DHD (TMX7-DHD) camera series have been certified as fully compliant with the CoaXPress interface standard version 1.0 AND version 1.1. The cameras passed a comprehensive electrical compliancy test on October 1st and then the CoaXPress Plugfest on October 8th. While the cameras implement the second generation CoaXPress V1.1 25Gb/s CoaXPress Quad interface, they are also fully backward compatible to existing V1.0 frame grabbers. There are many new CoaXPress compliant products, and they are listed on the Japanese Industrial Imaging Association (JIIA) web site.

The Q-12A180/CXP is the first CoaXPress 1.1 camera available. This camera outputs 12 Megapixel images at 187 fps. CoaXPress CXP-6 Quad (4 x CXP-6) offers a peak transfer rate of 2 GByte/s with data transmission between the camera and frame grabber at up to 25 Gbits/s (4 x 6.25 Gbits/s). The maximum of 9W of power to the camera is also enabled over the one CoaXPress interface cable. This is all with a cable length of up to 68 meters. The Q-12A180 offers the highest speed, high resolution with reliable and highest image quality to measure ever smaller critical structures or defects with the increased accuracy and throughput required by in-line optical metrology systems.

The TMX7-DHD is based around a sensitive 2/3" CCD image sensor and this rugged camera delivers crisp images from dawn until dusk. The CoaXPress interface is now included as an interface option in addition to Camera Link and HD-SDI to provide full HD images at 60 fps. The compact boxed camera design combined with use of coax cabling simplifies integration with an easy fit into existing system architectures. With the TMX7-DHD CoaXPress global security cameras, there are now optimized options for the needs or outdoor imaging with changing lighting conditions and harsh environmental conditions.

"The full advantages of CoaXPress to enable more connectivity flexibility, and achieve higher transmission rates over long distances are now available for both cameras and supporting frame grabbers," said Joost van Kuijk, Vice President Marketing & Technology at Adimec. "We are pleased that our cameras have official certification of compliance of the latest version of CoaXPress from the standard's organizers, and we applaud all the outstanding work they continue to do to support CoaXPress developments and new products." The Q-12A180 and TMX7-DHD are being shown in the Adimec Booth #1G68 at the Vision 2014 in Stuttgart, Germany November 4th to 6th.
